Three ways to split

Single pages turns a 20-page PDF into 20 files, numbered in order. Use it when every page has to be handled separately.

Chunks keeps a fixed number of pages together — useful when an upload form accepts only a few pages at a time.

Page ranges lets you say exactly what you want: type 1-3, 4-8, 9 and you get three files, one per range. Anything you leave out simply is not included.

The pages are copied, not re-rendered

Each output page is the original page object moved into a new document, so text stays selectable and searchable, and images are not re-compressed. Splitting and re-merging returns you to where you started.

How to use it

3. Download the pieces individually, or all of them as a numbered ZIP.

Usable on a work computer

Plenty of workplaces block file uploads to outside websites, to keep contracts and customer records from leaving the building. On those machines the usual online converters simply fail.

This one has no upload to block. Whether your organisation permits a particular site is still its own call, so check with your IT team if you handle regulated material.

Why this is built this way

Files that pass through someone else's server can be logged, cached, retained after the promised deletion window, or exposed in a breach. Contracts, ID scans, medical records and private photos are exactly the files people most often have to convert, and exactly the ones that should not be handed to a stranger's machine.

It is also why there is no file size limit, no daily quota, and no account. Those restrictions exist to control server costs. With no server in the loop, there is nothing to ration.

Questions

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The split happens in your browser and the file never leaves your device. You can confirm it in the Network tab of your developer tools, or by turning off your Wi-Fi after the first use and splitting again.

How do I extract just a few pages?

Choose page ranges and type them, for example 2-5. You will get one file containing those pages. Separate ranges with a comma to get one file per range.

Will the text still be selectable?

Yes. Pages are copied as they are rather than rendered to images, so text, links and searchability all survive.

Can it split a password protected PDF?

No. A locked PDF cannot be opened without its password. The tool says so rather than producing an unreadable file.
